James B. Robey III is a shareholder in the Firm’s litigation and construction practice groups, where he focuses on representing clients in complex construction-related disputes. His practice centers on representing general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and manufacturers in construction defect and design claims, as well as product liability and class action matters arising from construction projects.

James has significant experience handling all phases of construction litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial. In addition to litigation, he advises clients on contract drafting and negotiation, risk management, and resolving contractual and payment disputes, helping clients avoid litigation where possible and positioning them for success when disputes arise.

He also represents clients in complex business and commercial litigation, bringing a practical, results-driven approach to each matter.

Prior to joining the firm as an attorney, James served as a law clerk with the firm. He also clerked for the Honorable Robert E. Hood in Columbia, South Carolina, and with the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

James is a combat veteran of Operation Epic Fury and currently serves as a Judge Advocate (JAG) officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard.
