Katherine E. “Katie” Engels joined Richardson Plowden in the Columbia office as an associate attorney in 2021. Ms. Engels focuses her practice in Corporate Law.
Ms. Engels earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina (UofSC) School of Law in May 2021. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University in 2018. During law school, Ms. Engels was a Peer Mentor for the Student Bar Association, was a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, was Associate Justice for Mock Trial, was a member of the Women in the Law Association, served as a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Clinical program, and served as a research assistant.
Prior to joining Richardson Plowden as an associate attorney, Ms. Engels worked at the Firm as a law clerk. She has also worked as a law clerk for the Greenville County Public Defender’s Office and as a research assistant for Seth Stoughton at the UofSC School of Law. Ms. Engels is a member of the South Carolina Bar.
