Talida Balaj joined Richardson Plowden in the Columbia office as an associate attorney in 2026. She focuses her practice on General Ligation and Construction Law. Ms. Balaj earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2019, and earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2022.

During law school, Ms. Balaj served as a member of the Charleston School of Law Moot Court Board and was a 2020 winner in the Charleston School of Law Internal Moot Court Competition. While a member of the Moot Court Board, Ms. Balaj competed in the 28th and 29th William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot as an oralist and a brief writer. During this time, she volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem, served as the Treasurer of the Criminal Law Society, and served as a law clerk in the 11th Circuit Solicitors Office. In her final year of law school, Ms. Balaj published “Preventing Conflict: China’s Claim to the South China Sea and Mechanisms for Peace” in the Revista of International Law and Human Rights at UFRJ.

Prior to joining Richardson Plowden, Ms. Balaj worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Post-Conviction Relief division at the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. 

Ms. Balaj is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the North Carolina Bar.
